These popular Fitbit devices can be your perfect Mother's Day gift at a nice discount

While you still have almost two weeks to consider your options in terms of what could constitute a smart, thoughtful, and reasonably priced Mother's Day present, Fitbit can already hook you up with some of its most popular and well-reviewed wearable devices at nice discounts. The cheapest such gadget on sale for a limited time on the company's official website is the Fitbit Charge 3, available in two colors at $119.95, down from a $149.95 list price. The same $30 reduction applies to the Charge 3 Special Edition, which currently costs $139.95 instead of $169.95 with eye-catching Lavender Woven or Frost White Sport bands. The main (and only) difference between the "standard" and special edition of the Charge 3 fitness tracker is Fitbit Pay support on the latter.

Otherwise, the two models share a reasonably sharp OLED touchscreen, 24/7 heart rate monitoring functionality, up to an impressive 7 days of battery life, a swim-proof design, all-day activity tracking features, and in-depth sleep monitoring capabilities. The non-Special Fitbit Charge 3 can be purchased with black or blue gray straps and aluminum cases coated in graphite or rose gold respectively.

If you're in the market for something a little more sophisticated and "modern", both the Fitbit Versa and Ionic smartwatches are also discounted right now, fetching $180 and $230 respectively, down from their $200 and $250 list prices. You're obviously not looking at earth-shattering savings here, but they're definitely better than nothing and the Versa in particular seems to have a lot of fans. Unfortunately, the recently unveiled Versa Lite is not yet on sale, still fetching a full $160.

On the bright side, the Fitbit Versa Special Edition can be purchased for $210 instead of $230, with the Fitbit Ionic: adidas edition also marked down from $280 to $260. The Fitbit Versa primarily stands out with a sleek design (available in all-black, peach/rose gold, and gray/silver colors), although on the inside, the Versa and Ionic are extremely similar. That being said, you should keep in mind the cheaper smartwatch comes without built-in GPS connectivity.

Another thing to consider when shopping for mom is whether or not she'll find her gift useful. That's true for the Fitbit Charge 3, Versa, and Ionic even if your mother is not very active, as all three wearable devices include a nifty set of female health tracking tools as standard.
